CHAFFEE -- Leon "Frog" Kiefer, 71, of Chaffee died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 30, 1927, at Oran, son of Adam Henry and Bertha Theresa Vogel Kiefer. He and Opal May Leggett Dees were married Nov. 19, 1955.
Kiefer was part owner and operator of Kiefer's Service Station, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and its Men's Club, and Chaffee Elks Lodge 1810. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny Dees of Chaffee; a daughter, Carolyn Walther of Fruitland; a sister, Mary Thomas of Chaffee; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 6:30.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Church, with the Rev. Ralph Duffner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
