MORLEY, Mo. -- Leon "Honey" Graviett, 91, formerly of Morley, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born May 15, 1925, in Fryesville, Arkansas, to the late William Orval and Margaret Knauss Graviett. MORLEY, Mo. -- Leon "Honey" Graviett, 91, formerly of Morley, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born May 15, 1925, in Fryesville, Arkansas, to the late William Orval and Margaret Knauss Graviett. He married Patsy Ruth Shy on May 15, 1947, in Piggott, Arkansas, and she preceded him in death May 8, 2010.

Leon "Honey" was a retired truck driver for Commercial Transport in Cape Girardeau. He was a local teamster in Cape Girardeau. He served in the United States Army during the occupation of Japan in World War II.

Survivors include four sons, Mike Graviett of Beloit, Kansas, Gary (Mary Alice) Graviett of Rolla, Missouri, Roger "Hott" Graviett of Morley and Denny (Debbie) Graviett of Chaffee, Missouri; a daughter, Carla (George) Trankler of Advance, Missouri; a sister, Betty D'Angelo of San Jose, California; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandson.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Missouri.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.
