JACKSON, Mo. -- Leon C. Burger, 87, of Jackson died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 25, 1913, in Chaffee, Mo., son of Charles and Helen Leible Burger. He and Lorene Young were married July 17, 1937. She survives.
He farmed near Delta most of his life, retiring in 1982 and moving to Jackson. He was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Raymond Burger of Midlothian, Va.; and five sisters, Arvella Feco of St. Louis, Alvina Lally, Corene Waddell, Viola Westrich and Bernice Kagle, all of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Parish prayers will be said at 7 p.m. today.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, with Msgr. Edward Eftink officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
