CLINTON, MONT. -- Leo Wagoner, 73, passed away Monday, July 3, 2000, of natural causes at St. Patrick Hospital.
He was born May 21, 1927, in Oran, Mo., to Aaron and Rilla Wagoner. On Feb. 24, 1948, he married the love of his life, Evelyn Menz.
Leo served in the Navy four years. After his discharge Leo and Evelyn resided in Illinois until 1989, when they moved to Clinton, Mont., after his retirement.
Leo worked as a painter and painted several bridges and the St. Louis Cardinal Stadium, and was the foreman on the job when the St. Louis Arch was built in 1965.
Leo liked to hunt and fish and he enjoyed the outdoors.
He will be missed by his wife, family, and all his fishing buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Charlie and James Wagoner.
Survivors include Evelyn, his wife of 52 years; a son and daughter-in-law, Rodrick and Janice Wagoner of Bowling Green, Ky.; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and John Shotwell of Clinton; four grandchildren, Rodney Wagoner of Bloomington, Ind., Travis Wagoner of Scottsville, Ky., Erik Shotwell of Missoula, Mont., Torrie Shotwell of Clinton; a sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Chet Carr of Oran; brothers, Elmer Wagoner of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Otto Wagoner of Roseburg, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory in Missoula.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bonner. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
