BIEHLE, Mo. -- Leo J. Macke, 74, of Biehle died Monday, June 15, 2009, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Leo was born in Wilhelmina, Mo., Aug. 24, 1934, son of the late Henry H. and Frances Seiler Macke.

Survivors include his loving companion and best friend, Faye Deem of St. Louis; three brothers, Henry W. (Pauline) Macke of Imperial, Mo., August "Dude" (Lura) Macke of St. Ann, Mo., Robert Macke of West Milton, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Macke of St. Paul, Mo., Wanda Macke of St. Ann; a brother-in-law, Robert Kirchner of Biehle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Macke retired from Owens Illinois Plastic Plant 81 in St. Louis.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of AmVets Post 94 and was of the Catholic belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ann Kirchner and Agnes Dunn; two brothers, Adolph and Charles Macke; and a brother-in-law, Charles Dunn.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, with the Rev. John Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Masses.
