Leo August Heuer, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, November 5, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 19, 1913, in Cape Girardeau, the son of August A. and Lena Meyer Heuer.

On June 15, 1935, he married Bebe Schrock, who survives.

He was a farmer and heavy equipment operator. He also owned the first pair of buffalo in the area. He was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Other survivors include a son, Don Heuer of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Shelby Jean Johnson of Sedgewickville; two brothers, George Heuer of Cape Girardeau and Robert Heuer of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Dorothy Wessel of Gordonville and Erma Huffman of St. Louis; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Jeffrey Sippy will officiate, and entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park.
