ANNA, Ill. -- Lena Smooth, 86, of Anna, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at City Care Center of Anna. She was born May 17, 1911, at Dongola, daughter of John and Cora Karraker Porterfield. She and Claude W. Smoot were married March 29, 1930. He died Aug. 13, 1983...
ANNA, Ill. -- Lena Smooth, 86, of Anna, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1998, at City Care Center of Anna.
She was born May 17, 1911, at Dongola, daughter of John and Cora Karraker Porterfield. She and Claude W. Smoot were married March 29, 1930. He died Aug. 13, 1983.
She was a member of the Anna Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth "Smokey" Smoot of Anna; a sister, Lillian Henderson of Anna; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren; two step granddaughters and three step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call today after 6 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home, with John Shelton officiating. Burial will in Christian Chapel Cemetery.
