OLMSTED, Ill. -- Funeral service for Lena Harner of Metropolis will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin. The Revs. Gary Harner and Gene Edwards will officiate, with burial in Beechwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
Harner, 92, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 1996, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Home in Metropolis.
She was born May 12, 1904, in Ballard County, Ky., daughter of Pinkey Travis and Anne Bell Perkins. She married Charles Monroe Adams, who died Sept. 18, 1956. She later married John Harner, who died Nov. 26, 1987.
Harner was a member of Calvary Fellowship Baptist Church in Metropolis. She was formerly of Olmsted and Pulaski.
Survivors include a son, Charles Arrington of Seattle, Wash.; a stepson, Homer Harner of Joppa; a stepdaughter, Alice Anderson of Johnsonville; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers.
