PULASKI, Ill. -- Lena E. Bolen, 78, of Pulaski died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at her home.
She was born Dec. 25, 1926, at Mounds, Ill., daughter of Harley and Bessie Level Butler. She married Verl D. Bolen, who died April 8, 1995.
Bolen had been a telephone operator in Mounds, worked at Snowers in Cairo, Ill., and was an aide at St. Mary's Hospital in Cairo. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church at Villa Ridge, Ill. She was formerly of Cairo.
Survivors include a son, Barry Bolen of Choctaw, Okla.; a daughter, Judy Thurston of Pulaski; a sister, Thelma Fleming of Cunningham, Ky.; a brother, Donald Butler of LaCenter, Ky.; four grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at Pulaski Christian Church.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with Wiley Godfrey officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
