Lemuel Massa

PATTERSON, Mo. -- Lemuel Donald Massa, 72, of Patterson died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was born June 15, 1933, in State Park, Ill., son of Elmer and Alma Goodwin Massa. He and Betty Delores Carney were married Sept. 26, 1953, in Georgia.

Massa was a concrete foundation contractor.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include eight sons, Michael, Woodrow, Robert and Jeffrey Massa, all of Patterson, Cary Massa of Houston, Texas, Leslie Massa of McMinnville, Tenn., Lemuel Massa of Lithia Springs, Ga., Benjamin Massa of Marietta, Ga.; three daughters, Nancy Castle of Cleveland, Ohio, Linda Helton of Douglasville, Ga., Shauna Massa of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three brothers, Clinton Massa of Marble Hill, Mo., Sam Massa of Advance, Mo., Elmer Massa of Desoto, Mo.; a sister, Evelyn Ricardi of Washington, Mo.; and 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a sister.

Friends may call at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McGee Chapel in Glenallen, Mo. The Revs. Lawrence Doss and Clinton Massa will officiate. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery at Marble Hill.
