SIKESTON -- LeLand Baker, 88, of Sikeston, died Thursday, May 23, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born July 7, 1902, in Charleston, Miss. SIKESTON -- LeLand Baker, 88, of Sikeston, died Thursday, May 23, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born July 7, 1902, in Charleston, Miss.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie; seven sons, Vince Baker of San Diego, Calif., Mike Baker of Providence, R.I., Raymond Baker of Memphis, Tenn., Wilbur Redd of Ft. Leonard Wood, Alfred Redd of Greensboro, N.C., Demegee and Alvin Redd of Sikeston; two daughters, Joann Redd of Houston, Tex., Doris Redd of Sikeston.

Also surviving are three stepsons, James Redd of Toledo, Ohio, Charles Redd of Poplar Bluff, Jessie Redd of Sikeston; three stepdaughters, Janice Redd of Memphis, Bettie Williams and Patsy Townsend of Sikeston, and 23 grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Flem Bronner and James Blue will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, with Sparks Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.

Friends may call at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston from 7-8 p.m. Monday.
