Lela Lorene Hutson, 91, of Burfordville died Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, at Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born Aug. 28, 1925, in Millersville to Cornelius and Ellen Welker Hahn.
She and Charles Pinkston "Pink" Hutson were married March 1, 1958, at Burfordville Baptist Church. He died Nov. 9, 2010, after 52 years of marriage.
Lela was a 1942 graduate of Jackson High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University.
She taught school at Cedar Branch in Bollinger County, Missouri, and Stroder Branch in Cape Girardeau County for 10 years. She later worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill and Lenco Inc. in Jackson, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of Burfordville Baptist Church.
Survivors include a stepson and daughter-in-law, Charles Pinkston "Butch" (Linda) Hutson Jr.; two stepgrandsons, Christopher Louis (Lindsey) Hutson and Craig Robert (Laura) Hutson; two step-great-grandchildren, Jack and Kate Hutson; a sister, Wilma Summers; and a brother, Johnny (Joann) Hahn, all of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Virginia Sides; and brothers-in-law, Larry Sides and Lloyd Summers.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.
Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be given to Haynes Chapel Methodist Church or Burfordville Baptist Church.
