ADVANCE, Mo. -- Lela Marguriet Bock Hahn, 82, of Advance died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Otto and Martha Tuschoff Bock. She and Joseph "J.G." Hahn were married Aug 27, 1961, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chaffee, Missouri. He passed away May 17, 2012.
Lela graduated from Delta High School in 1952. After graduating from business school, she worked several years at Missouri Utilities until she married a farmer from Advance and began a 50+ year career as a farm wife.
She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chaffee. During her lifetime, she served in numerous church positions including being a founding board member of Camp SEMO Wappapello. Her joys were her faith, her children and her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Brion (Melissa) Hahn of Norborne, Missouri, and Gordon (Sheila) Hahn of Advance; daughter Susan (Denis) Wydra of Jackson; five grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Bethany, Joseph and Samantha; three stepgrandchildren, Renee, Sara and Bradley; one great-stepgrandchild, William; brother Wesley (Viola) Bock; sister Vera (Lloyd) Birk; seven nephews; and four nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law Capt. Warren Klingaman; sister Nora Seabaugh; brother-in-law Alvin Seabaugh; nephew Paul Bock; and niece Janie Abernathy.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chaffee.
The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Wayne Schwiesow officiating. Burial will be at Green Cox Cemetery near Advance.
Memorial contributions may be given to Camp SEMO Wappapello, Concordia Seminary Food Bank, Missionary Pastor Priestly Balasingh or Saxony Lutheran High School.
