LEE R. BRIGGS

CAIRO, Ill. -- Funeral service for Lee R. Briggs of Cairo will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Barkett Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert McCoy will officiate, with burial in Mound City National Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.

Briggs, 29 years old, died Monday, March 25, 1991, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City, Tenn.

He was born Feb. 16, 1962, in Mt. Carmel, son of Doyle and Dora Stone Briggs. He married the former JoAnna Hite.

Briggs was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and graduated with top honors from AIT Training School in Ft. Lee, Va.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sharon Briggs of Deckard, Tenn.; his mother of Yukum, Tex.; his father and stepmother, Doyle and Marilyn Briggs of Albion; a stepdaughter, Sue Rodgers of Pulaski; a stepson, Phillip Rodgers of Pulaski; two brothers, Jay and Virgil Briggs of Albion; two sisters, Jessie Johnson of Yukum, Cindy Briggs of Albion; a stepbrother and stepsister of Albion.
