LEE CRIPPS

GRAND TOWER, Ill. -- Lee Etta Cripps, 86, of Grand Tower died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, at her home.

She was born Sept. 29, 1911, in Grand Tower, daughter of John W. and Sula Anglin Wright. She and Frank Lee Cripps were married Oct. 15, 1930, in Union County. He died April 27, 1993.

Cripps had worked at Hale's Restaurant many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Francis and Frankie Cripps of Grand Tower, James Cripps of Slippery Rock, Pa., the Rev. John Cripps of Jonesboro; three daughters, Colleen Baltzell of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Bernadine Thompson of Carpio, N.D., Ellen Robertson of Grand Tower; a brother, Carl Wright of Grand Tower; 29 grandchildren; and 55 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, four brothers, two grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Meredith Funeral Chapel in Grand Tower after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, with the Revs. John Cripps and Don Grammer officiating. Burial will be in Walker Hill Cemetery.
