Lewis B. Ates, 70, of Muskegon, Mich., died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. He was born May 4, 1934, at Millersville, son of Tony Otto and Alma Fulbright Ates. Lewis B. Ates, 70, of Muskegon, Mich., died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon.

He was born May 4, 1934, at Millersville, son of Tony Otto and Alma Fulbright Ates. He married Elizabeth O'Brien, who died Oct. 3, 1996.

Ates was an inspector 38 years with Seal Power Corp. He was a member of Eagles Aerie and Moose Lodge in Muskegon.

Survivors include a brother, Wayne Kistner of Millersville; a sister, Leona Ellis of Sedgewickville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons and a daughter.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Old Salem Methodist Cemetery near Millersville. The Rev. Daniel Hale will officiate.

Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
