Lawrence Elmer Taylor, 86, of Bryan, Texas, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at his home.
He was born April 24, 1916, at Calla, Ky., son of John and Sarah Taylor. He and Anita Gerecke were married Dec. 1, 1950. She died Nov. 1, 1974. He then married Francis Rieg Nov. 3, 1979. She died in 1990.
He was a retired warehouseman. He served in the Army during World War II. He lived in Bryan for 14 years.
Survivors include one son, John Taylor of Bryan; three daughters, Karen S. Taylor and Sara M. Williams, both of Bryan, and Shirlee Lane of Monticello, Ind.; four brothers, Dean Taylor and Cecil Taylor, both of Wright City, Mo., Ray Taylor of Ozark, Mo., and June Taylor of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cape County Memorial Park Gazebo, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Ford and Sons Funeral Home of Cape Girardeau is in charge of local arrangements.
