McClure, Ill. -- Lawrence Elmer "Buddy" Rogers, 81, of Sun City, Ariz., died Monday, March 19, 2007, at his home. He was born June 3, 1925, in McClure, son of James Aud and Ola May Cleaver Rogers. McClure, Ill. -- Lawrence Elmer "Buddy" Rogers, 81, of Sun City, Ariz., died Monday, March 19, 2007, at his home.

He was born June 3, 1925, in McClure, son of James Aud and Ola May Cleaver Rogers. He and Lee Green were married Sept. 12, 1975.

Rogers attended school in McClure. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He then settled in the Los Angeles area where he was an accountant for Getty Oil Co. and Standard Oil Co.

Later in years the Rogers lived in Scott City before moving to Sun City.

Survivors include his wife; five children, Christy Ren and Judy Kingdon of Fountain City, Calif., Lawrence Rogers Jr. of Santa Maria, Calif., Rebecca Busch of California; Robin Rogers of Ventura, Calif.; six sisters, Marie Held, Annie Blaylock and Jean Moss, all of Anna Ill., Leoda Watkins of Ware, Ill., Wilma Colyer of McClure, Doris Jobe of Virginia Beach, Va.; five stepchildren, Paul, Dick, Ken and Mark Hanson, and Terri Boese; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

The funeral was held in Sun City.
