JONESBORO, Ill. -- Lawrence R. "Hog" Bittle, 87, of Route 2 Jonesboro died Saturday, Dec. 12, 1992, at the Life Care Center in Jonesboro.
He was born May 14, 1905, in Alto Pass, the son of Walter C. and Cora E. Lingle Bittle. On April 6, 1939, he married Vesta Turner at Jackson, Mo. She survives of the home.
He was retired from Choate Mental Health Center in Anna, and was a member of the Lockard Chapel Baptist Church near Jonesboro.
Other survivors include a son, Jerry Bittle of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Leonard and Howard Bittle, both of Anna, and Carl "Doc" Bittle of Jonesboro; a sister, Mildred Emrick of Jonesboro; and three granddaughters.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. John Cripps will officiate, and burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
