LOWNDES -- Lawrence O. Altenthal, 71, of Lowndes died Saturday, Sept. 9, 1995, at his daughter's home near Jackson.
He was born April 22, 1924, at Cape Girardeau, son of Alvin and Mollie Williams Altenthal.
He married Leona Nagel on March 18, 1945. She preceded him in death on Feb. 21, 1988.
He was veteran, having served in the Navy from 1947 to 1952. He was member of Pipefitters Local 562 of Cape Girardeau. He was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Jackson, and a member of Peach Lutheran Church of Wappapello. He moved to Lowndes three years ago.
Survivors include a son, Aaron Altenthal of Whitewater; two daughters, Patricia Hutchings of Jackson and Jackie Dodds of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Walter Fehrmann officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Cape Girardeau.
