BENTON -- Funeral service for Lawrence Norman Manker, Benton Route 1, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Richard Lause will officiate, with burial in Anniston Cemetery.
Manker, 67, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Fancy Farm, Ky., son of Lawrence Marshall and Alice Virvle Hayden Manker. He and Joyce Tatum were married March 9, 1963.
Manker retired from farming in 1990. He was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church at Charleston. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Manker of Sikeston, Lawrence "Jay" Manker Jr., Benton Route 1; two daughters, Donna Medlock of Zalma, Candy Sanders of Morley; six sisters, Lorene Powell of Charleston, Imogene Black of Boaz, Ky., Sue Faris of Tunnel Hill, Ill., Marcett Monan of Hutsonville, Ill., Carolyn Lawrence of Ravenden, Ark., Kay Bellamy of Paducah, Ky.; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
