Lawrence Badders
DECATUR, Ind. -- Lawrence Earl Badders, 86, of Decatur died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
He was born July 18, 1922, in Chaffee, Mo., son of Samuel Eli and Bertha Wisner Badders. He and Sadie Mae Myers were married in 1947 in Missouri. She died Sept. 2, 1973.
Badders served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II.
He retired in 1984 after 37 years at White Farm Equipment Co., formerly known as Oliver's Farm Equipment.
Survivors include a daughter, Janice Miller of Decatur; a son, Tim Badders of South Bend, Ind.; a sister, Ruby Parker of Ashland, Mo.; four grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Williams Memorial Cemetery at Perkins, Mo., with graveside rites by Missouri Military Honors.
Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur handled arrangements there, and Amick-Burnett was in charge of local arrangements.
