Lavon Putz, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born May 28, 1940, in McClure, Illinois, to Ira and Virgie Goodman Parrish. She and the Rev. Ed Putz were married in 1961 at Murphysboro, Illinois. He passed away in 1992.

She was a member of Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church.

Lavon loved to help people and was able to make that her occupation and ministry, as she was a homemaker for home health. She was a loving wife and mother. When she was able, she worked very hard in the pro-life movement.

Survivors include her son, Danny (Michelle) Putz of Jackson; her brother, Clifford Parrish of Jackson; and her sister, Doris Hedrick of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
