KELSO, Mo. -- LaVerne Elizabeth Rogers, 83, of Kelso died Friday, July 24, 2009, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 8, 1925, at Fornfelt, Mo., the daughter of William and Victoria Kern Corvick. She and Bill Rogers were married May 29, 1948, at Kelso.
Rogers worked as a presser for Thorngate. She was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, St. Ann's Ladies Sodality and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxilliary Council 6420.
Survivors include her husband; a sister, Darlene DeLong of Kelso; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Lloyd Corvick, and three sisters, Ethelyn Estes, Thelma Glastetter and Helen Davidson.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. Parish prayers will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a Knights of Columbus service at 7:15.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Kelso.
Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City is in charge of the arrangements.
