ADVANCE -- Lavern "Verna" Garner, 69, of Advance, died Friday, March 1, 1991, at the Family Home near Advance.
She was born in Zalma on May 9, 1921, to the late Henry and Lavada Borders Whitehead.
She married Homer Garner on Nov. 14, 1937. He survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Marie Kelso of Advance, Betty Rhodes of Florissant and Wilma Watts of Advance; one brother, Leland Whitehead of Wood River, Ill.; one sister, Irma Ladd of Advance; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by one brother and two sisters.
She was a retired machine operator at the Advance and Cape Girardeau shoe factories.
Visitation was held Saturday at the Liley Funeral Home in Lutesville. Service will be today at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. James Johns will officiate. Burial will be in the Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
