LaVern Biri, 84, of Jackson died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Sept. 1, 1919, in Jackson, daughter of Oscar and Carrie Steimel Mason.
LaVern worked 13 years, 1971 to 1984, at the former International Shoe Co. in Jackson. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and attended Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Connie Biri of Cape Girardeau, a daughter, Saundra "Sandy" Blevins Gremard of Jackson; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Dorothy Mason of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Ruth Fatchett of Alton, Ill.; three grandsons, Larry and Biri Blevins of Jackson, Brian Biri of Cape Girardeau; three great-grandchildren, Dillan Hayes, Logan Blevins and Kaylee Biri; several nieces and nephews, and her former spouse, Leon Biri.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond Epps officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
