LAURA GREBE

OAK RIDGE -- Laura Grebe, 87, of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1993, at Deal Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born Aug. 9, 1906, at St. James, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Veach. She was raised by a foster mother, Mellie Wills. She and Albert H.W. Grebe were married Dec. 16, 1933. He died Jan. 7, 1988.

Grebe had lived on the family farm 59 years. She was a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, charter member of its United Methodist Women, and taught the kindergarten Sunday School class a number of years.

Survivors include a son, Lonnie Grebe of Oak Ridge; a brother, Lloyd Cox of Dutton, Va.; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson and a number of brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Fred Rister will officiate, with burial in Goschen Cemetery at Oak Ridge.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday.
