Laura Buerke, 46, of St. Louis died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at her home. She was born April 3, 1959, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of James and Marilyn Dankel Garner. Laura Buerke, 46, of St. Louis died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at her home.

She was born April 3, 1959, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of James and Marilyn Dankel Garner. She and Steven Buerke were married Sept. 8, 1997, in St. Louis County.

Buerke attended Central High School, and Evangelical United Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Steven Umfleet-Garner of St. Louis; her parents of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Marta Mullally of Chesterfield, Mo., Candice Wilson of St. Louis; a brother, Drew Garner of Cape Girardeau; and grandmother, Eula Tow of Cape Girardeau.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Hoffmeister South County Chapel in St. Louis.
