MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Larry Woodrow Welker, 68, of Marble Hill passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born Feb. 28, 1945, in Marble Hill, son of Virgil and Nadine Garland Welker. He and Carolyn Cook were united in marriage July 25, 1964.
Larry worked as a well driller and logger all his life and was an avid outdoorsman, horseman and hunter and loved working with his longhorn cattle.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Welker; son Shane (Beverly) Welker; daughter Vickie (Mickey) Brown; parents Virgil and Nadine Welker; sisters Thelma Miles and Doris Bailey; and a special aunt, Grace Garland, all of Marble Hill; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Sander and Ben Ellis officiating. Burial will be in the Hurricane Fork Cemetery near Marble Hill.
