ADVANCE, Mo. — Lawrence "Larry" Paul Story, 82, of Advance went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 26, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri. He was born March 10, 1941, in Kankakee, Illinois, the son of Burt and Francis Houde Williams. Larry retired after a 35-year career at the Ford Motor Co. in Chicago Heights, Illinois. ADVANCE, Mo. — Lawrence "Larry" Paul Story, 82, of Advance went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 26, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri.

He was born March 10, 1941, in Kankakee, Illinois, the son of Burt and Francis Houde Williams.

Larry retired after a 35-year career at the Ford Motor Co. in Chicago Heights, Illinois. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling the country with his wife, Deborah. They loved spending their winters in Yuma, Arizona.

Larry was a member of Advance First Church.

He and Deborah Diane James Whisker were united in marriage in Bradley, Illinois, and she survives of the home.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Story; two sons, Lawrence Story of Kankakee and Michael (Kerry) Whisker of Wilmer, Alabama; two daughters, Brenda Miller of Watseka, Illinois, and Becky (John) Sherman of Wilmer; a brother, Bruce Story of Bourbonnais, Illinois; a sister, Barbara Banta of Vermont; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Armand Story.

Larry's family loved him very much and will greatly miss him.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brad Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Kenyon Cemetery near Delta.
