Larry Dean Underwood of Jackson passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999 at Barnes North Hospital in St. Louis. Born on April 2, 1954 in St. Louis, the son of Ivan and Kathleen DeJournett Underwood, he was a Realtor with ERA Cape Realtors for nine years and was currently a Director of the Cape County Board of Realtors. He served on several committees including the Award of Excellence, was chairperson for the Community Service Committee and was chairperson of the Finance Committee...

Larry Dean Underwood of Jackson passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999 at Barnes North Hospital in St. Louis. Born on April 2, 1954 in St. Louis, the son of Ivan and Kathleen DeJournett Underwood, he was a Realtor with ERA Cape Realtors for nine years and was currently a Director of the Cape County Board of Realtors. He served on several committees including the Award of Excellence, was chairperson for the Community Service Committee and was chairperson of the Finance Committee.

Mr. Underwood was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Jackson Rotary, the Missouri Board of Realtors.

He grew up in Cape Girardeau and was a graduate of Cape Central High School and was a salesperson and driver for MO/Ark Provision Co. and Central Foods before becoming a Realtor.

He married Mary Sue Westrich on July 3, 1976 in Cape Girardeau who survives.

He is survived by parents, Ivan Underwood of Cape Girardeau and Kathleen Givens of Cape Girardeau; two daughters and a son-in-law, Laura Nichole and Ryan McClard of Jackson and Angela Lynn Underwood of Jackson; four brothers, Darrell Underwood of Cape Girardeau, David Underwood of Jackson, Gary Underwood of Burfordville and Charles Givens of Cape Girardeau; and four sisters, Carolyn Allbritton of Cape Girardeau, Saundra Housley of Joplin, Debbie Reimann of Dexter and Lisa Dillingham of Cape Girardeau.

Visitation will begin on Friday at 6:00 with parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999, Msgr. Ed Eftink officiating.

The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude's Hospital or Muscular Dystrophy.

Arrangements are being handled by Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.
