Lanny Keith "Chief" Koch, son of the late Marion Corbert Koch and Katherine Miller Koch was born May 12, 1945, in Cape Girardeau and departed this life on Dec. 2, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 75 years.
Mr. Koch proudly served in U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ticonderoga. Lanny was the owner/operator of Girardeau Stevedores and Contractors, Inc in Scott City.
On Jan. 27, 1965, he married Marilyn Eftink at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran, Missouri. She survives
Also surviving are six sons, Robert Koch of Chaffee, Kent (Tonya) Koch of Whitewater, Paul (Amy) Koch of Kelso, Missouri, John (Martha) Koch of Chaffee, Martin (Lindsey) Koch of Arbor, Missouri, Terry (Jessica) Koch of Scott City; two brothers: Joe (Jeana) Koch of Cape Girardeau, Bill (Libby) Koch of Scott City; two sisters: Judy (Kenny) Foeste of Cape Girardeau, Angie (Rob) Sample of Scott City; 17 grandchildren: Kendall, Brittany, Logan, Stephanie, Colten, Jake, Paige, Jaci, Lindsey, Bethany, Scott, Kinley, Jaxon, Olivia, Cole, Molly, Zach; and 15 great-grandchildren: Langston, McCoy, Linnie, Georgie, Janie, Ted, Korbin, Kolbie, Emitt, Ezra, Elliot, Alec, Elias, Bentley, and Wyatt.
Besides his parents, Mr. Koch was preceded in death by one son, Kirt William Koch, two daughter-in-laws, Jamie and Debbie Koch.
