CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Landon Eric Grissom, 42, of Chaffee died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1961, at Chaffee, son of Robert and Mable DeHart Bentley. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Landon Eric Grissom, 42, of Chaffee died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at his home.

He was born Dec. 23, 1961, at Chaffee, son of Robert and Mable DeHart Bentley. He was later adopted by Charles Grissom.

Grissom was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Chaffee VFW Post 3127.

Survivors include a son, Dustin Grissom of Chaffee; a daughter, Marsha Grissom of Chaffee; two stepsons, Joseph Wood of Cape Girardeau, Christopher Wood of Fort Sill, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Chanda Wood of Chaffee; a brother, Randon Grissom of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Kay Boddy of Coweta, Okla.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 7 tonight, with the Rev. Marty Blakey officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.
