Lacey Nicole Edwards, 9, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at St. Louis Children's Hospital. She was born April 27, 1991, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Kevin V. and Diane Drury Edwards. Lacey was a third-grade student at Eagle Ridge Christian School. She played in CAYSA soccer, softball, showed horses, participated in gymnastics, played piano, and had recently given a recital at La Croix United Methodist Church...

Lacey Nicole Edwards, 9, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

She was born April 27, 1991, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Kevin V. and Diane Drury Edwards.

Lacey was a third-grade student at Eagle Ridge Christian School. She played in CAYSA soccer, softball, showed horses, participated in gymnastics, played piano, and had recently given a recital at La Croix United Methodist Church.

She was a member of First Assembly of God Church.

Her passion for the Lord was exemplified in the way she lived, and her unconditional love and perpetual smile continues to touch the hearts of anyone who has come into her life.

Survivors include her parents of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Colton Edwards of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Natalee Edwards of Cape Girardeau; maternal grandfather, Jim Drury of Cape Girardeau, maternal grandmother, Wanda Drury of Cape Girardeau; paternal grandfather, Norris Edwards of Sikeston; paternal grandmother, Juanita Edwards of Sikeston; and paternal great-grandmother, Lorene Edwards of Sikeston.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eagle Ridge Christian Church, with the Rev. Gary Brothers, the Rev. Mark Carbaugh, the Rev. Fred Burgard, and the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Greg Colwick, Spencer Edwards, Dan Drury, John Drury, Kenneth Drury and David Shell.

Memorial contributions may be made to Eagle Ridge Building Fund or the Youth Ministry at First Assembly of God Church.
