Kylie Simmons
CHAFFEE, Mo. — Kylie Alexis Simmons, 7 months, of Chaffee passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at her home, after a lifelong battle with proteus meningitis.
She was born Jan. 29, 2008, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Keith A. and Keisha Gerhardt Simmons.
Kylie spent most of her brief life in either Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau or Children's Hospital in St. Louis. Her parents cherish both Mother's Day and Father's Day, as she was able to spend those special occasions at home with the family.
Loving survivors include her parents and a brother, Kevin Simmons of the home.
Paternal survivors include an uncle, Bill (Amanda) Simmons of Farmington, Mo.; an aunt, Mary Saddler of Potosi, Mo.; and several loving cousins.
Maternal survivors include her grandparents, Kermit and Cheryl Gerhardt and Darlene Daniel of Jackson; an uncle, Kevin (Jennifer) Gerhardt of Jackson; aunts, Krissie Daniel of Jackson, Krystal (Tom) Finkbinder of Wisconsin; stepaunts, Joanna (Jason) Sams of Cape Girardeau, and Jessica (Rob) Shackles of Arnold, Mo.; a step-uncle, Jason (Jennifer) Stovall of Cape Girardeau; great-uncles, Don (Carol) Kutscher of Cape Girardeau, Ronald Gerhardt of St. Louis, Rick Welter of Cape Girardeau; and several loving cousins.
She was preceded in death by two infant cousins, Grace Gerhardt and Tiffany Watkins.
Friends may call Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to service time at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Robert Lewis of First General Baptist Church in Chaffee will officiate. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
