Kurt "Dusty" Kamp, 67, of Patton died Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his home.

He was born Jan. 4, 1957, in St. Louis to Robert and Jean Bozdeck Kamp. Kurt and Patti Sue Johnson were married July 26, 1980, at the Bell City United Methodist Church.

Kurt graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in December 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology/Construction Management. He owned and operated Southeast Constructors LLC for more than 10 years and worked in the construction industry for more than 40 years, working on many projects throughout the Midwest for other general contractors.

Kurt was a member of Sedgewickville United Methodist Church for more than 30 years, where he served many roles, including choir member, liturgist and administrative council chair. His involvement extended to the Moolah Shrine, Masonic Lodge, Carpenters Union and, while in college, the Sigma Phi Epsilon. His impact on these organizations and the lives he touched will be remembered.

He loved being a cowboy and working on Patti's small ranch, KD Bar Ranch. He loved all aspects of hunting and fishing, especially deer hunting at the ranch and fishing at Montauk State Park and Ocracoke, North Carolina. But above all these things, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.
