JACKSON -- Barbara "Kiki" LaPierre, 76, of Jackson died Saturday, Nov. 9, 1996, at Bond Nursing Home in Marble Hill. She was born Sept. 11, 1920, in Arbor, the daughter of Cecil and Lucy Clippard Unger Sr. She married Charles "Snookie" LaPierre on June 28, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1996...

JACKSON -- Barbara "Kiki" LaPierre, 76, of Jackson died Saturday, Nov. 9, 1996, at Bond Nursing Home in Marble Hill.

She was born Sept. 11, 1920, in Arbor, the daughter of Cecil and Lucy Clippard Unger Sr. She married Charles "Snookie" LaPierre on June 28, 1941, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1996.

LaPierre attended Jackson High School and Central High School in Cape Girardeau. She attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and was a member of the SEMO Booster Club and the Copper Dome Society.

LaPierre was a nurses' aide at Southeast Missouri Hospital and a physicians' assistant for Dr. Garland Reynolds. She volunteered much of her time for civic organizations in Cape Girardeau and Jackson.

Survivors include two sons, Darryl LaPierre of Dexter and Bruce LaPierre of Jackson; one daughter, Sandy Whitledge of Bloomington, Ind.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by one brother.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. O. David Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
