PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Kevin O. Weinkein, 63, of Perryville died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 11, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, son of Ivan and Mae Weiss Weinkein. He and Gail Boehme were married Oct. 6, 1973. She survives in Perryville.
Kevin was a dock supervisor at Gilster Mary Lee and a farmer of both agriculture and livestock. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, a U.S. Navy veteran and was a great, loving family man.
Other survivors include a son, Jason (Katie) Weinkein of Perryville; a daughter, Sarah Weinkein of Jackson; a sister, Rhoda (Gilbert) Cornehlsen of Perryville; a brother, Daryl (Barbara) Weinkein of Joplin, Missouri; and a granddaughter, Gracie Weinkein.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Thomas Handrick officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside service provided by the American Legion and Delta Team.
Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran School or the American Cancer Society.
