Kent Alan Brown, 63, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 31, 1957, in Cape Girardeau to Clyde Anthony and Irma Ann Balsman Brown. Kent was baptized in the Catholic faith. He was a wood craftsman for Columbia Construction, making furniture for Drury Hotels. He loved fishing, hunting, working with his hands building wood projects and working on his cars. Kent Alan Brown, 63, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 31, 1957, in Cape Girardeau to Clyde Anthony and Irma Ann Balsman Brown.

Kent was baptized in the Catholic faith. He was a wood craftsman for Columbia Construction, making furniture for Drury Hotels. He loved fishing, hunting, working with his hands building wood projects and working on his cars. Kent loved his daughters dearly despite the differences they had.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his mother, Irma Brown of Perryville, Missouri; former spouses, Gayle Richardet-Schiller of St. Louis and Holly Kasten Mais of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Chelsey R. (Tyler) Clifton of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Emmy Brown of Orlando, Florida; stepson, Zachary (Gwyn) Mais of Tampa, Florida; stepdaughter, Lauren (Reece) Thomas of Cape Girardeau; two sisters and two brothers, Debora (Thomas) Parres of Jackson, Daniel (Crystal) Brown of Perryville, Timothy (Kate) Brown of St. Louis and Rebecca (Michael) Winkler of Jefferson City, Missouri; four grandchildren, April, Destinee, Desirae and Drew Clifton; and four stepgrandchildren, Trinity and Alyson Mais and Lym and Ryder Thomas.

Kent was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Ben Melaku, C.M., officiating. Military funeral honors will be provided by American Legion Post 133 and the U.S. Naval Team.
