Kenny King, 72, of Jackson passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born July 30,1951, in Neely’s Landing, son of Robert “Bob” and Geneva Morton King. He and Jackie Kelly were married July 31, 1971.
Kenny was the owner and operator of Bob's Tire, which was started by his father Robert “Bob” King in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army from March 24, 1971, until Dec. 14, 1972. Kenny was a cancer survivor for more than 10 years.
Kenny never met a stranger and touched a lot of lives. He was a longtime fan and supporter of Jackson football. Kenny’s main priority in life was his wife, daughter and grandchildren. He also enjoyed being involved in classic cars.
Loving survivors include his wife, Jackie King of Jackson; daughter, Kendra King of Jackson; and grandchildren, Jordyn Jones, Kendal Daugherty and Owen Keller of Jackson.
Also surviving are three brothers, Gene (Joyce) King of Jackson, Rick (Lynda) King of St. Louis and Joe (Earlene) King of Jackson; four sisters, Sue (Homer) Stamp, Beth (Paul) Vrbosky, Cynthia (Kenny) Hotop and Sharon Joyce, all of Jackson; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Pleasant Hill Church in Fruitland.
The family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
