BENTON, Mo. -- Kenneth Leroy "Kenny" Blankenship, 81, of Benton died Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at his home. He was born Jan. 10, 1933, at Fornfelt (Scott City), to Edgar and Alma Brant Blankenship. BENTON, Mo. -- Kenneth Leroy "Kenny" Blankenship, 81, of Benton died Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at his home.

He was born Jan. 10, 1933, at Fornfelt (Scott City), to Edgar and Alma Brant Blankenship. He and Norma Lee Ridings were married May 10, 1952.

Kenny was a semi-truck salesman with Harris Truck & Trailer, Cooney Equipment 41 years, then later retiring from Ohio Pacific Express in 1998. He was a walking book of semi-truck knowledge, receiving numerous sales awards. He was a talented handyman, helping many over the years in need of carpentry, mechanics or electrical. He loved crappie fishing, sprint car racing and manicuring his lawn. Kenny was very blessed with remarkable friendships.

Survivors include his wife, Norma; a son, Rick Blankenship of Benton; three daughters, Regina Masters of Benton, Kathy Davis of Maysville, Missouri, and Vicki Sander of Marble Hill, Missouri; a sister, Ruby Scott of Jacksonville, Florida; a brother, Roy Blankenship of Jacksonville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, two grandchildren, two sisters and five brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Cornerstone Wesleyan Church in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Kevin Ropp and Mark Fisher officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cornerstone Church.
