RECTOR, Ark. -- Kenneth Webb, 79, of Rector passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
Kenneth was born Nov. 15, 1938, to the late James Daniel and Grace Parham Webb. He married Nancy Boyd, June 2, 1962, and they were married 43 years. She passed away Aug. 4, 2003. He then married Alma (Mills) White in 2005, and they returned to Rector in 2009.
He was a 1957 graduate of Rector High School and also graduated from Arkansas State University.
After graduation, he moved to St. Louis for several years. He worked for All-State Insurance and moved to Cape Girardeau. He was retired. He was an avid genealogist for more than 50 years and traced his family back to the Revolutionary War and The Jamestown Society.
In 2014 he went back to Arkansas State University and, at the age of 78, graduated with a master's degree in history. He was also a member of Rector First Baptist Church.
Kenneth is survived by his and Nancy's children, Teresa (Tom) Rimer of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Kenda (David) Girod of Jackson, Kevin (Sarina) Webb of Cape Girardeau and Kimberly Hottes of Jackson; nine grandchildren, Stephanie (Ethan) Young, Michael (Lauren) Rimer, Jennifer Rimer, Garrison Steel, Samantha Steel, Dylan Hottes and Amanda, Emily and Bryce Webb; a great-grandson, Liam Young; a sister, Virginia Louise McCord of O'Fallon, Missouri; his wife, Alma Webb of the home, and her daughter, Judy Kellogg of Yukon, Oklahoma, and her three granddaughters, Hannah, Grace and Sarah Kellogg.
Besides his parents and his wife, Nancy, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Doyne, Joe and Bryce Webb; a grandson, Gregory Steel; and a son-in-law, Jeff Steel.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at Irby Mitchell Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Woodland Heights Cemetery.
