Kenneth R. Smith, 42, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 20, 1965, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., to Richard C. and Gladys K. Kastner Smith. He and Tracey Wilkerson were married Jan. 16, 1993, in Effingham, Ill.

Ken was ordained at Fite Memorial Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio, in 1995. Other churches where he ministered include Elim Baptist Church, Rockford, Ill.; Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, Indianapolis; and First General Baptist Church, Cape Girardeau.

Ken began working in management and delivery at Pizza Inn in Fruitland in 2004. His children were elated that their dad made and delivered pizza. In 2006, while continuing to work part time at Pizza Inn, Ken became office manager at East Missouri Action Agency in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Tracey of Jackson; and their children, Nicholas, Alex, and Emily Smith; a brother, Rich (Penny) Smith of Monroeville, Pa., and their daughters, Rebecca and Hannah.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carter Frey officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
