PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Kenneth H. Sims, 76, of Perryville died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at Independence Care Center in Perryville.
He was born Jan. 27, 1933, in Paragould, Ark., to Doss and Viola Long Sims. He married Lolita "Lo" Kochner on Dec. 7, 1985, in St. Louis.
He was an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for 35 years. He was a Korean War veteran who served in the U. S. Army. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the American Legion Post 133, and the Amvets. He loved fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Lolita "Lo" Sims, of Perryville; two sons, Skip (Kathy) Sims of Columbia, Mo., and Robert (Amy) Sims of St. Louis; three daughters, Elaine (Delbert) Retzer of Redbud, Ill., Geri (Jerry) Eichler of Winfield, Mo., and Teri (Norm Peters) Sims of St. Louis; a brother, Robert Sims of Paragould, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southeast Hospice.
