KENNETH PENLAND

COBDEN, Ill. -- Kenneth Leon Penland, 65, of Florrisant, Mo., and formerly of Cobden, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton, Mo.

He was born Jan. 22, 1935, in Cobden, son of Curtis and Ella Marie Hewlitt Penland.

He had worked in the banking and finance industry all his working life.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Penland of Florrisant; a son, Curtis Marcel Penland of Orange, Conn.; three daughters, Shonni Dixon of Kings Mountain, N.C., Marri Reavis of Tulsa, Okla., and Sharlon Louise Penland of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a brother, Paul Penland of Anna, Ill.; five sisters, Evelyn Launis of LaSalle, Ill., Norma Moon of Carterville, Ill., Roberta Castellano of Murphysboro, Ill., Ruby Hilton of Henderson, Tenn., and Barbara Brandt of Roswell, N.M.; and a granddaughter.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tommy Minroe officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
