TAMMS, Ill. -- Kenneth Earl "Poss" Lingle, 76, of Tamms died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born July 1, 1923, in Jonesboro, son of Charles Earl and Mary Edith Dillow Lingle.
Lingle retired from Illinois Transportation Highway Department, where he worked 17 years. He was a member of Tamms Community Church and served on the deacons board. He was a lifetime member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna, and former board member of St. Johns Cemetery Association in Dongola.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.Survivors include his wife; the former Nell Jean Crider; and a daughter, Patricia Ann Lingle of Marion.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Larry Buckles officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola.
