POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Kenneth Howell, 62, of Poplar Bluff died Friday, April 15, 2005, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 21, 1942, at Fourteen Bend, Mo. He and Cynthia Prill were married June 18, 1977, in Jackson.
Howell retired from the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 1995 after 28 years of service. He worked as a private investigator after retirement. Howell was a trustee of the Poplar Bluff Elks Lodge, a member of the Wappapello Eagles Lodge, a Shriner, a member of the Missouri Troopers Association and the Retired Missouri Highway Patrol Association.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kenneth Wayde Howell of Wake Forest, N.C., Kenneth Trent Howell of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Sherri Rene Uren of Jackson, Michelle Linn Wingo of St. Louis; his mother, Muriel Howell of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Willard R. Howell of Doniphan, Mo., Thomas E. Howell of Potosi, Mo., Richard T. Howell of Old Monroe, Mo.; three sisters, Evelyn Webster of Naylor, Mo., Georgia Stephens of Poplar Bluff, Brenda Bizzell of San Antonio, Texas; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Shelvie Stephens officating.
