Kenneth L. Birk, 70, of Woodbury, N.J., died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Manor Care of West Deptford, N.J.He was born in Cape Girardeau, and had lived in Woodbury since 1954. He married the former Bette Ballistreri. Kenneth L. Birk, 70, of Woodbury, N.J., died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Manor Care of West Deptford, N.J.He was born in Cape Girardeau, and had lived in Woodbury since 1954. He married the former Bette Ballistreri.

Birk received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Southeast Missouri State University, and in 1952 received a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla.

He worked at Mobil Oil in Paulsboro, N.J., 37 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church. Birk served in the U.S. Army from 1952-54.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lydia Birk of Clinton, Tenn., Judy Hunter of Sewell, N.J.; a brother, B.W. Birk of Ballwin; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at McGuinness Funeral Home in Woodbury from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be private.
