PUXICO, Mo. -- Keiko "Kay" Holweg, 69, of Puxico passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 30, 1952, in Okinawa to Toshiro and Fumiko Higa Arakaki.
She lived in Okinawa until she married Elmer Holweg on Nov. 12, 1971. After Elmer's military service time was up, they moved to Missouri in 1975. After her husband reenlisted in 1976, they lived in California and then Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In 1979, they moved back to Missouri and resided in Bollinger County for many years until moving to rural Puxico in Stoddard County 16 years ago.
Kay was a homemaker and enjoyed animals of all kinds. She was a very generous, loving person, and her smiling face will be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer Holweg; sisters, Ruriko Shimabuku of Chatan-City, Okinawa, and Emiko Arakaki of Okinawa; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her brother, Toshico.
In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made to the Bollinger County Stray Project.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of the celebration of life service at 2 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri, with the Rev. Randy Shrum officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date.
