BELL CITY, Mo. -- Katie Mae Ray, 86, of Bell City died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born May 13, 1914, in Halls, Tenn., daughter of Major and Josephine Isom. She had lived in Missouri since 1932.

She and Joe Ray were married Jan. 3, 1932, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, John Henry Ray of Topeka, Kan., and Joe Ray and Sylvester Ray, both of Sikeston; four daughters, Minnie Blaylock of Aberdeen, Miss., Olivia Moore and Glendora Ray, both of Chicago, and Josephine Ray of Sikeston; a grandson whom she raised, Alvester Ray of Sikeston; two sisters, Lillie Fuller of Clinton, Ky., and Olivia Martin of Chicago; 32 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sons and one daughter.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon Friday at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ.

Funeral will be at noon at the church, with Elisha Pullen officiating. Burial will be in Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.

Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
